Mississippi Early Childhood Association

Mississippi Early Childhood Association (MsECA) has connected individuals working with young children and families for nearly 70 years. The association was founded in 1953 with 16 charter members.  The organization has grown to include several hundred members across the state.  As an affiliate of the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA), we are connected to over 21,000 early childhood professionals from 13 states across the South.

April is the Month of the Young Child!

The Week of the Young Child celebrates the importance of early childhood education and development. Through engaging activities and events, communities focus on nurturing the well-being of young children, highlighting the significance of early learning experiences in shaping their futures. This week serves as a reminder to support and invest in quality early childhood programs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

This year, instead of celebrating only one week in April, we would like to take it up a notch and celebrate the entire month of April. Yes!! It will become the Month of the Young Child. This opportunity gives schools and programs the flexibility to choose any week in April to celebrate or celebrate the entire month.
